SAPM on Information and Broadcast gets another shuffle.

Political scenario of Pakistan sees yet another change. Senator Shibli Faraz is appointed as the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting by Prime Minister Imran Khan. Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan was removed from her position as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcast (SAPM) and was replaced by Lt. Gen (r) Asim Saleem Bajwa.

Ex SAPM and current Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry announced the reshuffle on his twitter account congratulating Shibli and Bajwa.

Reports are that Dr. Awan was involved in financial corruption and misuse of authority which resulted in her removal from the position. She denied these allegations on her twitter account and congratulated the new appointees.

The relations between PTI/Govt were strained during the tenure of Dr Awan. The newly appointed Minister and newly appointed SAPM are tasked to set a media strategy to improve the relations with media.

Lt. Gen (r) Asim Bajwa is also the Chairperson of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He was the Director General of the Inter Services Public Relations from June 2012 to Dec 2016.
