Ertugrul series is a superhit in Pakistan and PTV is asking fans to help break YouTube world record for most new subscribers in a month. The current record is set at 6.6 million new subscribers.
Ertugrul is a Turkish historic drama produced by TRT which is dubbed into various languages due to its popularity and is also available on Netflix. PTV has recently aired the series in Urdu dubbing. The series was an super success in Pakistan with millions of viewers binge watching it during the lockdown and social distancing phase due to coronavirus.
PTV is airing the drama serial on TV channel and on YouTube as well. Realizing the popularity, PTV wants to break the current YouTube world record of 6.6 million new subscribers in one month. PTV has asked fans to subscribe to the channel #TRTErtugrulPTV.
With hashtag #ErtugrulYouTubeRecord on Twitter, PTV started a trend and urged fans to subscribe to their new YouTube channel. The channel is made specifically for the series.
“Let’s get the world record for most new subscribers in 1 month on YouTube. The current record is 6.6 million and the channel Ertugrul Ghazi can beat that with your! We have 15 days to make history.” said the tweet.
Riyaad Minty, the digital director for Turkish Radio and Television (TRT), also tweeted about the trend and urged the viewers to subscribe to get the record for most subscribers in one month!
The channel has now over 1 million subscribers. Riyaad Minty thanked the fans for their response and motivated them to keep the subscribe rate up for the next two weeks.
He also tweeted a photo of determined looking Imran Khan batting, with the message “Let’s keep that strike rate up and we’ll get there!”
“The first episode of #Ertugrul has had over 43 million views across all our languages on @YouTube – Urdu is at 12 million in just two weeks” he tweeted.
